FIRST FRIDAY / DEC. 7th

Lox Salon will host a First Friday Event on December 7th. at their shop in the Old City (On Central) and will have all of the First Friday goodies you've come to love and enjoy...stuff on the walls, a band, and food and drinks. Luke9 and the Rude Boys will be the band. Collages will probably be on the walls here for the last time, so see them while you can. After this month, they will be retired to my office walls, or be given out as late Christmas gifts...so clear up space in your closets, you just might have a framed space-taker coming your way.

Day's Inn Oasis

We went to a place in NC called the Swag to have Thanksgiving dinner with some of my family. My little brother and I decided to spend the night in Asheville and hit a few night spots. We stayed at the Day's inn. I remember it from years past as being really gross, but it seems like it may have new owners. It was clean for a change, and the non-smoking room actually seemed like a non-smoking room. Plus, it had this awesome pool. Asheville was eerily quiet until you walked into a bar, and then it was really nice. All the families in for Thanksgiving...I imagined all of the brothers and sisters getting out for a beer...just like we were. Good beer tastes better with a brother.

I think these two chairs look like old buddies. They're sitting there waiting on someone to play tennis. I'm thinking Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau. You know, Grumpy Old Men.
